    It’s 10 in the p.m.. Where’s YOUR mother?

Wow!  You guys are just cooking with gas!  I’m having the loveliest time reading about your extraordinary adventures.

At present Jen has eaten an Ethiopian feast, Jane went pantless on the T (and was consequently photographed for the Boston Herald), Chris survived a sandstorm, co-admin Rebecca’s mom survived a slew of 1st graders, Dawn drove hundreds of miles solo, I participated in my first poetry reading and SO.MANY.MORE.  If this is just the start of week 2, I have absolutely no idea what to expect for the rest of the year.  But I do know this: 2010 is full of so much crazy promise.  And to think, we still have another 50 and some weeks of fabulous adventuer to look forward to!

Keep doing what you’re doing.  You do it so well!

    xoxo

    Kimberly

If you are so artistically inclined

Do you have a repressed urge to design a logo?  Have an intense need to let your inner designer fly?  I would just love to enlist your help!

I plan to present any and all adventurers who successfully complete 52 adventures a “Club 52” sticker and t-shirt and the close of the year. (I’ll make an abridged version for those who choose to complete a different # of adventures)

It makes this something of an exclusive club!  How fun!

But I’ve disastrous design skills, so I’m calling on YOU.  Let’s see what you’ve got!

Submit all entries to: Kimberlyhula@gmail.com, subject heading: Club52 logo submission

    xoxo

    ADV. #1: Baptism by Ice

2 ex-boyfriends of mine walked into a 2009 New Years Eye party I was attending.  Only one left unharmed.

This is not how I hoped to jumpstart my year of 52 adventures.

However, as a saving grace, it was the sage word(s) of the unharmed ex who really lent credence and gave meaning to adventure #1: The Polar Bear Plunge. See, after my fist met the shoulder of the harmed one, I put down my drink, found Mark (of the unharmed) and sighed.  And sighed.  I said how I always chose the wrong men and spoke how how I never learned and reminded him that I had punched someone!  Punched him!  Like a spoiled child.  My racing words did little to suggest maturity and I was lothesome, near tears and without a drink. (More …)

I love this, but for the life of me I can’t htink of the new vocabulary term you taught me – something about ritual washing? I think it started with an “A,” but I don’t think it was ablution. What was it.

PS – thanks for not punching me.

Life is adventure. So to appreciate it, part of my adventure to notice and appreciate them as such. Early on January 1, 2010 in the still dark of the night, I went outdoors to observe what was being called the full, blue moon. Stood in the cold of the Colorado night and took in the view of this wonderous moon. Below unlike during day hours the snow smarkled as if interlaced with diamonds. The beauty and wonder of it all started my year of 52 adventures.

Adventure #2 on 01/01/10:Attended New Year’s Day Party at Lori & Chris’ in Windsor. Colorado. It is always an adventure to get to know people on their home turf. Learned of their dream to open a bed&breakfast. Observed that they are terrific host. They have decorating, preparing the best nibbles. . Lori has a terrific collection of tea pots. She plans to have one for each of her rooms in her bed & breakfast. My favorite of her tea pots was the one that just says Believe. Yes, it is an adventure to Believe. Believe in life and the adventures it brings. If only we believe.

Good on you! I’m glad it went well and that there was no long-term freezing to be had. Looking forward to that video.

The good news is that I don’t have frostbite on right foot toes #2 & 3. The better news is that my left knee has a 3″-diameter bruise from running into an ice berg.

Kristina, I love your blue moon adventure. Adventure doesn’t always scream – sometime it causes quiet contemplation. Looking forward to further details.

Ok, I don’t have a list yet, but I already have one adventureompleted!!
I’m fostering the ugliest-cutest dog (yes the do exist) on the face of the earth.
So far, he has crapped on the floor, chewed up a blanket, and molested my cat.
I’m thinking about keeping him 🙂

You’re Cali adventure could be being an extra in a move if you don’t get the chance in Boston. Otherwise save it up and we’ll do one together that week. BTW- one of mine is to visit 5 US cities I’ve never been to. That includes Boston, so we’ll have an East Coast adventure that week.
